Where to See July 4th Fireworks 2019 in Wilmington, NC

Believe it or not, the Fourth of July is nearly here. In roughly one week, this nation of ours will be celebrating the anniversary of its independence, and since many of you will have the day off work, there is no doubt you’ll want to make the most of it. Of course, one of the best ways to do that is by taking in a fireworks display, and we’ve put together some options for your to see some July 4th fireworks in 2019 around the Wilmington area.

Fourth of July Fireworks Displays and Events Around Wilmington

graphic of fireworks with text that says fireworks locationsThough there are plenty of options listed here, we’re sure it isn’t a complete list. If you know of any that we have not included, be sure to share them with others in the comments section at the bottom of this page.

  1. 4th of July Fireworks in Downtown Wilmington: You can’t go wrong with some downtown fun, including a fireworks show that begins at 9:05pm. The recommended viewing spot is the downtown riverfront. Unfortunately, due to construction, the usual concert and street fair will not be taking place this year.
  2. Red, White & Bluegrass: Though Wilmington’s usual street fair won’t be happening this year, if you’re looking for something more than just the fireworks, this is one event you might want to check out at the Pier 33 stage. Doors open at 6pm.
  3. Southport 4th of July Festival: Instead of hanging around Wilmington, you might also consider driving down to Southport, which is celebrating Independence Day across multiple days! Beach Day is on July 1, while the 4th of July Festival takes place July 2-4 and includes a veterans recognition ceremony, arts/crafts booths, food vendors, a parade, classic cars, games for the kids, a pancake breakfast and, of course, fireworks.
