It’s almost time for one of the best weekends of the year, Memorial Day weekend! Wilmington always has tons of things going on throughout the city to celebrate the long weekend, so if you’re looking for something to do, check out these great events!
Downtown Sundown Concert (May 24)
Kick off your weekend with some rock and roll! The Downtown Sundown concert series is a series of free concerts in downtown Wilmington that everyone can enjoy every Friday night during the summer! This will be the first concert of the season and will feature The Rolling Stones tribute band, Satisfaction!
Fireworks on the Beach (May 24)
After you’ve danced to some music downtown, head to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to catch the annual fireworks show! This free show begins at 6:30 p.m. with live music and fireworks kicking off at 9 p.m., giving you plenty of time to find your favorite spot on the beach!
Orange Street ArtsFest (May 25-26)
If you’re an art fanatic or just enjoy the makings of local artists, then you need to check out the Orange Street ArtsFest! For over 20 years, local artists have been gathering in downtown Wilmington for this event that has arts, live entertainment food and more! Learn more, here!
Catch a Free Movie at the Lake (May 26)
Looking for a relaxing way to spend a Sunday night? Then check out the free movie by the lake series at Carolina Beach Lake Park! On May 26, the series will be featuring the world premiere of the movie, Rat Pack! Show starts at dusk, around 8:45 p.m.
Battleship North Carolina Memorial Day Observance (May 27)
It’s important to take some time on Memorial Day to observe those who have sacrificed for our country. In Wilmington, you can do that on the Battleship North Carolina which will feature a guest speaker, 21-gun salute, military band and more. Learn more, here.
